Poetry: Insecurity

Some dudes turn up
To compensate for feeling low
And mute the world
When haters give them what they owed
Travel around the world
Buy expensive chains and fancy clothes
Insecurity is a mother
And it shows
That music today
Lacks substance
It's the basic undertone
I wish that, we fix that
And switch the roles
If you need designer things
It probably means
All of your life you heard was "no."
Not to mention, the attention
That you craved as a kid
You didn't listen
Now you try to make up for it
If you learned nothing
Here's something, so make your move
Buying expensive sh*t
Will never make you
The smartest person in the room
