Why You Shouldn't Follow Everyone Back On Twitter

I was on Twitter this morning, and I got inspired to write a blog post. Let me give you a little back story. I opened my Twitter account about a little more than 2 years ago. When I first started Twitter I was lost, and everything seemed so foreign to me.

I figured it would be a good way to network, and make some new friends in the process. So in the beginning, I started to follow everyone back that followed me. Big mistake! After being on the site for more than two years now, I see why it wasn't a good idea. I've categorized the followers into a specific genre. Brace yourself it's not for the faint of heart.

Spammers

You can tell a spammer by their tweets. These people have automated accounts, and they tweet 24/7. If you don't believe me, go on Twitter in the middle of the night, and you'll see them tweeting. It's so strange that they never stop. It takes up a lot of space on my time line.

Another way to tell a spammer is almost every tweet will contain a link to their business. This can get to be tiring seeing the same type of messages on my time line. I would steer clear of these accounts at all costs.

Complainers

These type of followers can get to be a pain in the @ss. I joke around on my account all the time, but they aren't meant to offend anyone. Some people on Twitter will complain about other people complaining. Oh, the irony!

They literally piss and moan about everything going wrong in their life. I guarantee that people on Twitter don't care about your personal life. Complaining won't get you anything, except a bunch of unfollowers. If you like to whine about your life, then Twitter isn't for you.

Perverts

I'm sure you have seen these people before. They retweet pictures of porn, and other questionable material. I'm not against this at all, but you shouldn't force your followers to view these pictures. I have Twitter on my phone, and there's no way to avoid the picture from being open.

They removed that feature in the latest update. I don't understand why people are trying to get attention by taking their clothes off. It seems like it's just a desperate cry for help.
