SEO Tips: How to Rank Higher in the Search Engines

Everyone wants their website to rank well in the search engines. SEO content will help you skyrocket your blog or website to number one.  I will discuss how to boost your raking in the Google search engine. Low quality content should be avoided at all costs. Here is a list of some of the things you can use to improve your ranking in the search engine. 

Content

Having high quality content is extremely important when making a website. How can I tell if I have high quality content on my site? Well, this can be summed up in many ways. The first thing you want to look at is the length of the posts. Google checks the web for content starting at around 300 words or more. You can write less than 300 words, but it will not bring you as much traffic. Google usually overlooks low quality posts, and it’s best if you stay within those guidelines. 

Keywords

Keywords are a major part of the ranking system. These are special words Google uses to categorize its content. The rule is for every 100 words you are allowed to use the keyword 1-2 times. For example, if your post is 300 words you can use the keyword 3-6 times. Anything more than that is considered “spam”, and you will not rank well in the search engine. Often times, people think cramming keywords in an article is better, but for this instance, less is more.

Ads

Putting ads on your site can help to produce a decent income. There are a list of PPC (pay per click) programs that you can use such as AdSense, Infolinks, and Chitika. Believe it or not your ads play a part in your SEO ranking. Displaying too many low quality ads will hurt your rating. You want to have only a couple of ads on a page at one time. It’s not necessary to cover your entire web page with flashing ads. This is a turn off to potential visitors, and it looks unprofessional. Pop-up ads should be disabled because you are forcing people to view them, let the reader decide to view the ads on their own.
