Poetry: Life is Hard
Born and bred this life instead
You search for a place to lay your head
Growing up in a real war zone
The thought makes me shiver
Quiver because the world's so cold
Drugs have taken a hold
Known to men and women alike
Night after night drenched in fright
Terrified eyes watch the world ignite
Into a blaze that burned for years not days
We scream for help, but we're engulfed in flames
Trained to stop drop and roll
Drunken egos clash breaking bones
We paid a debit to society
Hoping change was sold
You can't float through life without skipping stones
