Poetry: Triumph Over Serpentry

As I stand here in the face of adversity
Nothing’s changed in the game
Haters mad, so they cursing me
Appropriately titled

The triumph over serpentry
On the eve of a full moon
A dam man in burgundy
He appeared to me in a dream

With a surprise of uncertainty
Offering me the world
In exchange, for a finder’s fee
My soul for the taking

I exclaimed, I don’t follow see
He couldn’t sway my decision
So, he had to flee from the property
I woke up in a cold sweat

Wondering would this be my destiny
Had to regroup for a minute
The thought was unsettling
I’ll never sell out because that will be the death of me
