Poetry: Social Media

Send a text to your friends
Look at pictures of what they did
I would expect something different
All this time spent, and the minutes

Count down and tick away
Before you know it
There goes another day
Some people say it's not obstructive

I disagree, sometimes it's counterproductive
The irony is that social media
Is anything, but that
People share information, but

They rarely interact
I don't think that you see my vision
Social media has turned into
A boasting competition

Posting quotes or pictures
Of your night in hopes of
Getting a retweet or a like
I don't like what is happening
What ever happened to human interaction?
