Poetry: Money Talks

If money talks does it talk with a lisp?
I was told that it can't buy happiness
If you owe your friends a bill
You'll be ducking them still
And I know you're bluffing, when
Asked how much of it you have
You just laugh and say " I'm the sh*t."
What makes us do this?
Well who knows
A half of a human being
The rest is just a paper mold
All of our life we were told
If you don't make it
You don't grow
Is it taking our soul?
Or erasing our whole
Life is ticking away, OH NO
We've been  down this road
Society has some unusual demands
Money talks and bullsh*t walks
Yeah, I bet their holding hands

Poetry: High Fashion

Call me a chicken Mcf*ck it
Cuz I like getting sauced
I rock virgins
I'm bursting the cherry on top
Stop fronting like the bars aint hot
A lot of you rappers steal flows
Just know, I don't have time
Your music doesn't move me
Nope, not by a landslide
Are you gonna stand by
When the lead fly?
And tweet R.I.P
When ya man's die?
Besides the fact
You take shots, but
Y'all ran out of ammo
These strippers man
They can't keep on they damn clothes
I told her you tore it up
When you was down low
And this bar fa Shawn
Because that chapter is closed

Poetry: Chiraq

I'm from the city of the Chi
Where I used to reside
Gunshots every night
A war zone, no lie
Excuse me for a minute
I gotta keep it real wit mines
Don't forget, you can't rep that 6 without 5
Gang life in my city
Has built a divide
Dudes is drawing they trey's
Because he reppin' a seis
Every cinco de mayo
Somebody getting sprayed
Are my people liable
To take responsibility for what they say?
On the block, selling rocks
In any weather
If you don't remember this poem
I'll leave you with something clever
You can't win the war
If you ain't fighting together

Poetry: Homeless

A penny for your thoughts
And a dollar for your broken dreams
Living on the street
Trying to make ends meet
That money is something
To give their spirits a lift
So picture this
The poor giving to the poor
And the rich not giving a sh*t
I hope you're listening
Because you can't hear their cries
In a Benz, well it depends
If your eyes come in contact with his
That man or woman on the street
Hustling to make ends meet
Some treat them with no respect
They neglect the steps it took
Get a good look at poverty
This could be you
Lose all your property
But gain a new insight on life
And that's no lie
You earned a life lesson
That money can't buy
The homeless...

Poetry: The Musician

I come from a place
Where dudes get baked to get the cake
Women can't face facts
So they get a doctor to fix their face
If this is rap
I must be out my place
And being fake
Is exactly what it takes
To be successful
Sh*t is stressful
My mind sometimes gets in the way
And when I dream I see notes
But I gotta spend c-notes
To get my record played

Some say you can't progress
Without getting saved
We all sing the same song

Just pawns in the game
In the rap race
Creativity takes 2nd place

Poetry: The Artist

Painting his pain with his paintbrush
Color pumps through his veins
He gets high on portraits and outlines
That rush of painting the perfect stroke
He has a love affair with his palette
A little bit of this
A little bit of that
He throws a dash of creativity
In his art stew
The melting pot of color begins
He merges fact with fiction
In the ultimate harmony
Between canvas and color
Immaculate detail borders OCD
He stops at nothing to finish
Like no other....the artist

Poetry: Chain Smoker

Inhale death and exhale life
These white sticks outline my body in chalk
I know it's killing me
But it's hard to walk
Away, keep them far away from me
Please, don't judge
What don't you understand?
Hell, I don't understand it myself
I must be wealthy
All the cigarettes I've smoked
Or just very petty
That I can't say "no."
After every meal
I need me a smoke
When I'm not smoking
All I think about is taking a toke
That rope around my neck
Is far too tight
Loosen the grip a bit
Or take my life
I used to smoke like a chimney
My lungs and smoke would always fight
Quitting cigarettes never felt so right

Poetry: A Perfect Place

Let me go to a perfect place
The grass never has to be cut
It gets greener as the days
Go by, I always say
It's not how much money you make
It's how you spend it
I never meant it
When I doubted your existence
Take me to a place
With a golden spiral staircase
Music 24/7
And a smiling angel face
Family you almost forgot about
Laughing and hugs all around
Yes, I'm talking heaven
If you couldn't read between the lines
It's fine, the meaner people
Who were deemed to be evil
They couldn't make it in time
Good food, and even better conversation
Erasing all your sins from within
No clocks, just lots of love
That joyous place from above
It's heaven....yeah, it's heaven

Poetry: My Pride

Sometimes I hold my pride inside
In a way, I think I'm saving lives
Internally, it's built a divide
Between me, myself, and I
Why try to change this?
I'm not trying to be famous
Laid this verse down on a page, when
I'm stressed from life is what I'm saying
Speak when spoken to
I wonder who can do this?
What would life be like without my ego?
Paradise, sipping a screwdriver with my people
We're all equal in the eyes of the creator
Some were birthed sooner
And some a little later
If words could kill
Would you still want to talk to me?
Roll your eyes, flip your hair
And even scoff at me

Is it prophecy?
I can't come second to none
Sometimes the tongue is mightier than the gun
My pride...

Poetry: Mirror, Mirror on The Wall

I often talk to my reflection
As if it was a different person
Separate from me
It seems that it was certain
The person staring back
Isn't who he seems
His evil eyes aren't a reflection of me
I always thought I was a good person
Not letting negativity affect this
Now I'm seeing it from another perspective
My soul is enclosed in this human mold
I know that I'm supposed to grow old
If wisdom comes with age
Then why does time pass so slow?
Will I ever find the time to do no wrong?
This bitter sweet feeling pulls my strings
The puppeteer and the puppet are fighting
For control, good and evil thoughts
I'm often lost.....in my reflection

Poetry: Sunny Days

Sunny days
A bird and a rose
Run away with me
And never say "no."
When we part
Hide your tears, cuz they show
A side of you
That I've never known
Will we last?
Or become victims of the past?
It happened so fast
Trying to get a grip
I'm losing it, so bad
We can be together
Accept it, and don't look back
We're on egg shells
I hope we don't just crack
Packed away
Our memories
And everything, you meant to me
The good and bad
Sleeping back to back
When we're mad
We eventually attract
The attention we give
She can't live a day
Without her face
Next to his

Poetry: We Seek Peace

We seek peace in our day-to-day tasks
Holding in our anger, hoping it will pass
We thrive off danger, thrill seeking, drugs
Often these are put in the place of love

Poetry: It Doesn't Exist

Can you love something that doesn't exist?
Like a unicorn in the backyard taking a piss
Or a midget that just sharded his pants
And the minotaur has to change him again
Faceplant in feces, call it reeces pieces
And he keeps washing his hands
But he's still left with a stench
Baby powder on his bum
To keep from chaffing his skin
Am I making some sense?
My pen game nasty
Don't ask me
How I blew my bacon to bits
It's been a long day
Of kissing ass
Here, you taking these mints

Poetry: Players And Pimps

Those rays of sun
Bounce off your bronze skin
At just the right angle
Just the right moment
You shine above the rest
Standing at attention
Guarding your heart
The gatekeeper is on her job
To keep out players
Pimps, and other undesirables
You can't be bought
Or wooed with gold
You can't be crossed
Because you won't go down that road
A strong woman
With her eyes on the prize
You don't need a man
He needs you in his life
That's right!

Poetry: Happy Times

Happy times is what life is all about
Hold these things close to your heart
It can be as small as finding money on the ground
Overjoyed that you bought that new house

Mounds of dough in your bank account
A fighting couple that worked things out
Happiness is certainly this I know
Sharing a passionate kiss under the mistletoe

Snowing on a winter day, while all the kids just play
A brand new car when you graduate
In a world so cold, it's not spoken of
The guns and violence has broken us

You're rewarded for doing wrong
Most people come from broken homes
I don't want to keep going on and on, but
Happy times show people in their rarest form

Poetry: Is This Love?

I said, "Is this love?"
When did you change your view on us?
Trust issues, chained on the back of lust
Dark shades, rusted blades, that just won't cut
Enough, it's taken a toll
Love is out of control
Hold your head high
And be willing to let go
Free yourself from this burden
We both tried, but it wasn't working
I'm certain, that it's irking me again
Still worried, that it won't sink in
This message, I've been trying to tell you
Over and over again
The end of the road is here
So block out all your peers
It appears that you should steer
Clear of us, but what's the matter?
Did the truth shatter your soul?
I've been fighting for us
Since I was a day old
I knew we would be together
Through the stormy weather
You severed my plans of getting better
Whether or not you're here
I'll continue to my venue
And pen raps over these instrumentals
Is this love?

At the speed of light
Breaking the sound barrier
As it exits my body
My senses are heightened
