Poetry: We Seek Peace

We seek peace in our day-to-day tasks
Holding in our anger, hoping it will pass
We thrive off danger, thrill seeking, drugs
Often these are put in the place of love

Silence is something we all search for
Even when peace is knocking on our door
Open your third eye to see what's next
Barely living from check to check

Is this all we should expect?
I know life is a gamble, so place your bets
Accept the fact we live and die
Don't give up, at least you tried

Why can't people ever get it right?
We're not perfect, but with God's help we might
Be comfortable in our own flesh
We receive peace when we're in eternal rest
