Poetry: White Lies
We've all been guilty of them
Tell one and there's no telling when
One leads to another, and there really is no end
When your baby asks how do I look?
You try so hard not to tell a lie
So out of habit you say that they look fine
You should tell the truth, but you don't have the time
Living life trying not to hurt people's feelings
At what price does this play on someone's mind
Gather all your white lies, and set them in a line
Walk them like a tight rope, while being watched by all
Be careful not to tell the truth, or you will surely fall
You made it without falling, there's nothing you can't do
Cheering loved ones in the stands, all eyes are on you
If telling lies doesn't bother you, your judgment isn't sound
In a round a bout way what do you have left?
Answer this question are you being truthful to yourself?
