If you're like me and you need some extra cash, then look no further. Textbroker is an online place where you get paid to work at home. The first thing you have to do is sign-up and submit a writing sample. Textbroker follows the AP (Associated Press) style guide, so study that if you want a good score. Your writing will be evaluated by editors to see what is your writing level. There is a star rating system ranging from a 2-star to a 5-star author. There isn't a 1-star rating and if you receive a 1-star it means you can't work for Textbroker. The entire process to be reviewed takes about a week.

Sometimes it's sooner, but it depends on how many people have applied. Once you've received your rating you can start to pick up articles to be written. The pay scale is per word and it's as follows 2-star 0.7 cents, 3-star 1.0 cent, 4-star 1.4 and 5-star 5.0 cents.  The articles range in difficulty, so make sure you read the directions thoroughly. When you take an assignment the clock will start. Usually the client will set a specific time limit they expect the assignment to be finished. They always give you more than enough time to complete a job, so don't worry about not finishing in time. Remember to proof read your submission a couple of times to catch all the mistakes.

Once you complete five assignments you will be graded for accuracy by Textbroker. At this time you're not allowed to accept anymore assignments, until you've been given their approval. This stops mediocre writers from doing a bunch of assignments, and the clients not being happy. Every 2 months or so you will get an evaluation. Five assignments will randomly be graded and sent back with a number from 1 to 4. The scores will be averaged out, for example 3+3+2+3+3=2.8.

This would be rounded to a 3, so your rating would be 3-stars. Textbroker does this automatically and you can see your score on your dashboard. Many authors make a decent amount of money from this establishment. You can easily make more than $1000 a month, but you have to be dedicated to writing.
